ALICE Forward Detectors: T0, V0 and FMD

Rcu++ provides a C++ abstraction layer over the particular communication protocol used to talk to the RCU. Also, it provides a ROOT based data acquisition for testing. You need altro, FeeClient, Dim, or Date.

This interface layer is used extensively by the FMD group to test front-end electronics. Below are three screenshots from the ASTRID test-beam runs.

• Taking data with DATE, and slow control and monitoring via Rcu++. Monitor shows ADC spectrum for a single ALTRO timebin

• Taking data with DATE, and slow control and monitoring via Rcu++. Monitor shows summed ADC spectrum for all ALTRO channels and FEC boards

As with all the other packages, one can build RPMs directly from the sources. For this package specialised package sets can build too, by doing

  rpmbuild -ta -D "variant variant" rcuxx-0.25.tar.gz

where variant is one of daq or dcs
